I'm definitely going to be posting my Cotton Candy bingo stuff on AO3 and not even bother with FFnet. I'll probably /try/ to finish the WIPs I have on there, but new stuff? Not so much. And new chapters will go on AO3 first. (Needs to remember to point everyone on FFnet over to my AO3 profile...)
Last time I uploaded anything, it didn't eat the -o0o- I used for scene breaks (though, I'm sure it will at some point, ARGH). Plain asterisks or hyphens get munched every time. And I hate that stupid full-screen width HR bar...
IKR? Every time I try to edit (usually to put back the scene breaks), it ends up eating words or entire sentences, or messing up my spacing somehow. I refuse to do it anymore on FFnet. And the image stuff they've added slows the site down so much it's even more difficult for me to use, hence the switch to AO3.
ffdn has said pretty clearly they don't like random strings of characters as scene breaks. I use the word BREAK in my doc file, and then replace it with the actual break lines ffdn supplies after I upload the document. It's been pretty painless doing it that way, takes me seconds, and I like their break lines better anyway.
I actually find AO3 much more cumbersome and I get far fewer readers there (like hundreds fewer) so I won't be leaving ffdn anytime soon (although I do put my stuff on AO3 also. It's just WAY harder to format and takes WAY more time.)
