For the first time in about a month, we are finally getting to see the ground again! Today we may set a record with the temperature getting into the mid sixties. The best thing about this is that the kids can get outside for recess and run and yell to their hearts content.
Right now I'm watching the Westminster Kennel Club dog show on USA network. I got to go to it in 1973 when my aunt had her Malamute entered. I'm amazed at how many new breeds have been recognized since then. To give you an idea, back in the sixties/early seventies, there was no Herding Group. The herding breeds were part of the working Group at that time. And the Non Sporting Group was half the size it is now.
They are showing the judging of the Hound Group now. I'm having a bit of fun noting how many hound breeds have ties to Ancient Egypt. There's the Ibizan Hound, Pharaoh Hound (!), Saluki , Greyhound and even the Basenji!
