Rare moment of quiet

Hubby and the girls are out spending money, so I have a moment on the computer. Took a walk around the neighborhood and saw way too many for sale signs. Out of curiosity checked online listings and found twenty units for sale just in our complex. Add in sales in the three other complexes across the street, plus complexes within a five minute drive and we are talking close to eighty units! The first five were short sales. Prices are coming down, but I can't see how we can sell if the market is this bad for condos. And sell we must if we ever hope to move elsewhere...
So far our school district has not suffered as badly as others in our state, (One district has axed 1100 teachers and staff!) but planned expansions have been abandoned and a few teachers may not have their contracts renewed.
I plan to go for a regular part-time job once younger kid has moved on to middle school. The district pays us lunch moms handsomely, but we don't get many hours, 12 to 15 hours a week is the most we can get and only when school is in session. I'm hoping the doggy day care place will have openings, I miss playing with puppies.
Hubby FINALLY went for a checkup this morning. His old doctor sold his practice and retired, so Hubby had to find a new doctor. Got the kids in for their checkups but have to wait till next month for the eye exams as the eye doc keeps re-locating to offices in distant suburbs. Decided to go with a different doc so I could keep going to the office thats ten minutes from our house.
And how was YOUR week?
