There were seven hundred and forty gods recorded in the tomb of Thutmose III, and Sarah Jane Smith was horribly afraid she was about to meet them all.
Her fingers were gouging holes in the jaguar's leather upolstery as her eyes made a determined effort to avoid looking at the speedometer. The landscape having been rendered a blurry smudge made gazing out the window a bad idea as well. About the only thing left to focus on was the jag's driver, who seemed hell bent on driving to the afterlife in a luxury vehicle.
Her personal demons were making snide remarks about how there were worse things she could be looking at in the last moments of her life. And oh bloody hell, they were right about that! Tall, dark and...gentle. A gentleness curiously at odds with the things he had seen and done, first as a prince and priest of a long vanished kingdom, then exiled to a shadow dimension that warped and twisted so many souls into eternal madness. Yet he had survived, sustained by his magic and his loyalty and love for his pharaoh, who had also been reborn to the modern world. And had become just as big a menace to traffic as his favorite former monster...
And speaking of traffic, it seemed they were actually slowing down enough to see the traffic. Now she could see her flat at the end of the block as well. Giving heartfelt thanks for her continued survival, (And she thought the Doctor had a lead foot!) she unhooked her fingers from the upholsery and started to undo her seatbelt, desperate to get out of the car and back on solid ground.
That was when the magic man choose to execute a hairpin turn into the driveway,Sarah yelped as the momentum flung her sideways and practically into his lap.
"Oi!! What was that manouver about?!?"
"A means of bringing us closer together my lady"
Sarah stared dumbfounded into his eyes, his beautiful eyes..."The-there are other ways to bring people closer together Magic Man!"
"Indeed? Perhaps you could show me..?"
Sarah Jane forgot all about how badly she wanted to get out of the car...
Did I just invent a ship?
