The aftermath

The worst of the storms left our area by about nine, but the thunder and lightning kept going all night. Tornado sirens sounded at Wrigley Field and in downtown Chicago and several suburbs. This morning, I went out and checked our complex for damage, but amazingly we have NO damage!!! It seems the worst of it was to the west and south of us. Today I'm hoping to hear from our friends in one of the hard hit towns. Younger kid is disgusted that her school did not get hit by lightning and burnt to a crisp.

And as far as she's concerned, the fact that the school DARED to be open after she spent a half hour in the basement last night adds insult to injury!
