TORNADO!!!!

 OK. This is as close as  I EVER want to come to encountering one. Spent half an hour in the basement with younger kid, cat and betta fish. Hubby and older kid took cover at a friends house. the worst of it is now heading into Indiana. Have been unable to reach friends in the next county over. Hope its just a power failer.

Scary!

I lived through a very bad tornado when I was a kid. My house was untouched, but we ended up with a LOT of debris from neighbors' houses in our yard, and a coworker of my father's stayed with us a few days after his house was destroyed. It's really amazing how tornadoes will hit one place and miss the next.

I'm glad you were "the next." Best wishes for the town's recovery.

I'm so glad we WERE "the next"! Considering that 200,000 are without power, and the number of fires, downed trees and the wind damage in neighboring towns, we are very lucky to have gotten off scott free. It's almost disturbing that our town looks like nothing even happened.
