Astronomy question
Jul. 8th, 2009 02:22 pmI've been doing a bit of research on stars and constellations known to the ancient egyptians, and need to know if any of the following would be visible in the night skies over Domino. ( I'm actually thinking from the blimp during Battle City, and locating Domino on the south-east coast of Japan.) The ones I have in mind are:
Sirius the Dogstar ( Called Sopdu or Sopdet in AE )
Orion (Sah, the Fleet-Footed, Long-Strider)
Ursa Major ( Great Bear or Big Dipper, called Meskhetiu)
Also,Cygnus, Cassiopeia and the polar stars, especially if any one can tell me what the ancient egyptians called them.
Thanks muchly!
